Are you finding grief harder than you expected?
You do not have to navigate this alone...
I am here to support, so that you can learn to grow life around your grief and move from surviving to thriving again after heartache and trauma.
"As a widow herself Emma has experienced all the pain and emotions
and I honestly think this makes a difference." - Donna
My hope is that I can be the compassionate, expert guidance that I wish I'd had when I was widowed.
After my husband died, I left my role as a Wills and Probate lawyer and I changed career to become a coach. I spent years qualifying as BACP counsellor and a certified Grief Educator, which means that I have both the professional mind and therapeutic heart to help you, not just to survive your loss, but to learn to thrive again after heartache and trauma.
If you are feeling lost and confused by grief, and you are unsure how to move forwards, I'm here to help.
Book a session with me for expert guidance as you navigate your way through grief in a safe and compassionate space. All our sessions are completely confidential and held online via Zoom.
After booking your first appointment, you will receive a short questionnaire to fill in, so that I can understand what the most important issues are for you.
All sessions last for an hour and cost £100 (but if you buy six sessions you get one half price, and if you buy ten sessions you get one session free).
"I realise I can not only survive the loss but have joy in my life. I'm more focused, I have structure and when I wobble I have now learnt to embrace it rather than fear it."
LC
"I have come on leaps and bouds since the sessions. I am much more content and no longer dwell on the issues we discussed."
Gillian
"Speaking from my own experience I would not be as positive and as happy as I am today. Emma will help you navigate this journey that will never end and she will help you discover a strength within you that you thought you never had"
Donna
"Emma didn't ever tell me how I was feeling or give her opinion on things but asked the questions and gave me the space to allow me to re-frame things in my own mind or question the importance of things and to disrupt the old 'scripts'."

How I can help you...
Therapeutic Grief Support
Losing someone you love can feel overwhelming and isolating. As a qualified integrative counsellor and someone who has walked this path myself, I understand the unique challenges of grief. I know the magic of therapy, which can help you to find the answers inside of yourself... so that you do not just survive the grief, but you learn to grow life around the grief and start to thrive again.
Dealing with Tricky Conversations
Do you struggle to talk to family or friends about your grief, or do you find that others don't understand what you're going through? Instead of burying your head in the sand, I can help you to work out what the issues are that you want to discuss and help you find the way forwards towards the conversations that you want and need to have.
Processing complex Grief Emotions
Many people struggle with the unexpected intensity and complexity of grief... the anger, guilt, relief, or numbness that can feel "wrong" or overwhelming. I can help you to understand that all your grief responses are valid and to support you in processing these difficult emotions in a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore what you're truly feeling without fear of being misunderstood.
Coaching Packages
Please choose what is right for you...
You can purchase a one-off session, but the people who get the most out of our sessions are the ones who buy packages of six or ten sessions, so that we can work through the grief together over a longer period of time (there are discounts and payment plans for the packages).
* Please note that I am no longer a practicing solicitor, therefore I am unable to draft legal documents or give any legal or financial advice
One-to-One coaching is for you if you have been touched by grief
and you feel lost, alone or weighed down by the emotions and the changed world around you.
Although the grief never goes, I believe that it is possible to grow life around the loss and to find post-traumatic growth, and to once again feel able to live, love and laugh again.
"100% recommend"
"It was so wonderful to meet someone who I felt I could truly relate to and who was able to hold my space with compassion and understanding that was true walked experience rather than theory" - Chloe
"Do it now! Start the conversation. You will not regret it. Emma offers a gentle, empathetic, guiding hand through things you are finding difficult" - Gillian
Why Work with Me...
When you're grieving, you need someone who truly understands... not just professionally, but personally. You need to know you're in safe hands with someone who has walked this heartbreaking path and found their way through the pain.
My world was turned upside down when my Royal Marine husband Simon died from oesophageal cancer in 2016. Being widowed in my thirties with two young daughters plunged me into depths of grief far worse than I ever imagined possible.
I know what it feels like to wonder if you'll survive this pain. I understand the overwhelming emotions, the confusion about how to move forward, the fear that joy might never return. But I also know that it's possible to not just survive grief, but to grow life around it and find joy and meaning again.
This lived experience, combined with my professional training as an integrative counsellor and a certified Grief Educator, means that I bring both deep understanding and expert guidance together to support your journey through your own unique grief.
There is no good time to work through painful emotions,
but the longer you keep emotions hidden, the more likely they are to bubble up at unexpected times and in ways that you don’t want.
By connecting with someone who has been there, and who has the knowledge to support you, in just six or ten sessions you can feel unburdened of some of the weight of grief and be able to find your way forwards in this changed world.
The sooner you get started on this, the sooner you can go chase those rainbows!
FAQ's
Does it matter where I am in my grief journey?
Not at all... Whether your loss was recent, or years ago... whether you are grieving a person, a relationship, or any other significant loss... if you feel you would benefit from a safe, non-judgmental space to process what you are going through, I'm here to support you.
What happens in our sessions?
There is no rigid structure because I follow what you need most in each session. However, you will receive a brief questionnaire before our first session, so I can understand your situation. Each session begins with a check-in, and I will always send you a follow-up email after the session with any key points. The sessions are completely confidential and are held online via Zoom.
How many sessions will I need?
Every situation is unique. Whilst some people find clarity in a few sessions, grief work often benefits from ongoing support. Six or ten session packages allow time to build trust, explore deeper issues, and develop tools for moving forwards independently.
How qualified are you to provide grief support?
As well as my lived experience as a widow, I am a qualified integrative counsellor and certified Grief Educatory. I have spent over 150 hours volunteering as a Bereavement Support Volunteer for the national bereavement charity Cruse, and I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
What if I am not ready to "move on" from my grief?
I do not believe that we "move on" from grief... but we can learn to grow a beautiful life around it. My approach ensures that we honour the need for an ongoing connection to what has been lost, whilst finding ways to thrive alongside the grief.
What is your refund policy?
Whilst I don't offer refunds, if you are not fully satisfied with your sessions, please contact me directly so that we can discuss your concerns. Full terms and conditions are available upon purchase.
How many sessions should I book?
Every grief experience is unique. Whilst some people find clarity and results in just a few sessions, working through grief typically benefits from ongoing support. I offer packages of six or ten sessions, which allows time for:
"Emma was able to identify the root of my issues. She has an uncanny ability to gently direct the conversation towards the key area!" - Gillian
