I can help with the following*:
Bereavement support and self care for you
One thing I have learnt the hard way, is that if you are burnt out, stressed and overwhelmed, then you cannot give the best of yourself to help others. I can help you put together a self-care plan which helps you to prioritise yourself and I can be your accountability buddy to help you keep on track.
Your own Sadmin paperwork
Do you need help knowing where to start with Wills and/or Powers of Attorney? I can guide you through what needs to be done and give you tips on the more detailed things that are often not dealt with by solicitors, such as instructions for loved ones about end of life wishes and instructions for guardians about the life you wish for your children.
Post death Sadmin of a person who has died
Are you worried about the burden of administering the estate of a loved one? Do you need help with the practical side of probate, such as what to do with all the personal possessions, family relationship dynamics, pets and utility bills? I provide practical and emotional support alongside your solicitor, which enables the process to run smoother.
Caring for others
Do you have a person in your life who you care for on a regular basis? No matter what your caring responsibilities are, if you are struggling with your role of carer, I will be the friend you need. Having been a carer myself to my late husband, I can can give you emotional support to ensure you don't burn out.
How to have tricky conversations with others
Do you find that you struggle to talk to family or friends about difficult topics? Instead of burying your head in the sand, I can help you to see the wood from the trees, work out what the issues are that you want to discuss and help you find the way forwards towards the conversations that you want to have.
I offer a number of different packages for these sessions!
Please choose the one that is right for you…
If you buy six sessions you get half a session free!
Or, if you buy ten sessions you get a whole session free!
There are payment plans for both the six and ten session packages, making it easier to spread the cost.
* Please note that I am no longer a practicing solicitor, therefore I am unable to draft legal documents or give any legal or financial advice.
One-to-One sessions are for you if you have been touched by grief
and you feel lost in your emotions or weighed down by the confusing burden of all the Sadmin paperwork.
Although the grief never goes, I believe that it is possible to grow life around the loss and find a positive transformation from processing your grief and once again feeling able to live, love and laugh again.
Why work with me?
When my late husband was diagnosed with terminal oesophageal cancer at only 38 years old, I was a happily married mother of two young girls with a successful career as a solicitor.
I know what it is like to have your life turned upside down by a diagnosis and/or a death.
Living as a widow since 2016, I have learned the hard way how thrive, not just survive, as a solo parent whilst navigating all the challenges of widowhood and life.
My personal experiences, together with my practical knowledge as a former Wills and Probate solicitor and various grief and decluttering courses, make me an ideal person to coach you.
With my support you will begin to see the wood from the trees, either from a practical paperwork point of view, an emotional point of view or, of course, both.
There is no good time to work our way through painful emotions,
but the longer we keep emotions hidden, the more likely they are to bubble up at unexpected times and in ways that we don’t want.
By connecting with someone who has been there and has the knowledge to support you, in just six or ten sessions you can feel unburdened of some of the weight of grief and able to find your way forwards in this changed world.
The sooner you get started on this vital self-care work, the sooner you can go chase those rainbows!
FAQ's
Can you help with the legal papers?
I am not insured to provide legal or financial advice. So, although I can coach you with your emotions, support you navigating other issues that arise and provide you with information that will close the knowledge gap, I cannot give you specific legal or financial advice. I can however sign post you to qualified professionals, such as solicitors who are members of STEP and/or Lifetime Lawyers for legal advice and financial advisers who are members of SOLLA for financial advice.
Are you qualified to teach this content?
As well as my lived experience and legal background, I am a certified life coach who is grief educated and who has done the theory aspects of a counselling qualification. In addition I have spent over 100 hours volunteering as a Bereavement Support Volunteer for the national bereavement charity Cruse and I am a member of the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (APDO).
Do you help people who are not bereaved?
Yes, although a lot of my clients have been touched by grief, not all have. As well as coaching and supporting with bereavement, I can help with general overwhelm, especially related to end of life and Sadmin papers.
Does it matter where I am in the grief journey?
It does not matter where you are in the grief journey, or even what it is that you are grieving (it may not be the loss of a person)… if you feel that you would benefit from a non-judgmental, safe space to share what’s going on for you then it would be my privilege to coach and support you.
Is there a structure to the sessions?
There is no specific structure to sessions because I focus on whatever you might bring to each session. Each session is preceded by a questionnaire that is sent out in the reminder email, which lets me know a bit of background and is used to guide the sessions. However, I find that the first couple of sessions might focus on your story and what you are bringing, then when we get into the deeper issues shifts often tend to happen in the middle sessions, with the end sessions focusing on how you can support yourself after the package(s) of sessions end.
What is your refund policy?
We do not offer refunds and for full details on the refund policy please see the ts and cs. However, if you are not fully satisfied with your purchase please contact me via email in the first instance.
How do I know how many sessions to book?
Each situation is unique. Whilst one session might be sufficient for a specific paperwork issue, it is rare that a single session is sufficient to support you if you are navigating the complexities of grief. The structure of six or ten sessions is such that in the first couple of calls I can listen to your story, get to know you and we can build the coaching relationship. Often the real work comes in the middle sessions and then the last couple of sessions we can work towards building your confidence to move forwards without the sessions. Or, if you want further sessions, I can support you with a new package for a longer period of time!
